BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Proclamation No. 339, January 5, 1968 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CHESHIRE HOME, INC. (SINAG-TALA) TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 16 TO AUGUST 16, 1968.

WHEREAS, THE Philippine Cheshire Home, inc. (SINAG-TALA) is a private non-denominational and non-profit organization which aims at giving shelter to the incurably sick or permanently disabled whom the hospitals cannot now serve and for whom no suitable place is at present available;

WHEREAS, the organization, among other things aims:

1. To provide residential accommodation for the physically deformed, to help in the rehabilitation of men, women and children regardless of nationality or creed who are permanently disabled, sick or mentally handicapped specially those coming from poor families with limited mans;

2. To provide facilities to enable the patients to engage in fruitful activities such as cottage industries, home crafts, electronics, elementary electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, etc. so that these patients may later become fitted for employment in public and private establishments;

3. To promote, conduct and engage in research and experimental work for the physical, mental and social rehabilitation of patients; and

WHEREAS, in order to implement its program of service to the less fortunate, and educational and fund campaign is necessary to build a permanent home;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Cheshire Home, Inc. (SINAG-TALA) to conduct a national educational and fund campaign during the period from February 15 to August 16, 1968. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to assist in this drive by giving generously of their means, so that we may help in the early realization of the various objectives of the Philippine Cheshire Home Inc.
