[ Proclamation No. 332, January 19, 1968 ]

CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL ELECTIVE LOCAL OFFICES IN BUTIG, LANAO DEL SUR.

Whereas, the Commission on Elections, through its Chairman, reported to the President of the Philippines that the regular election in th Municipality of Butig, Lanao del Sur, scheduled by law on November 14, 1967, failed to take place due to the unfavorable peace and order condition prevailing therein which prevented the delivery of the official ballots and other election supplies to the respective polling places in the said municipality; and

Whereas, it is essential and important that the people in said municipality be afforded the opportunity to elect their own local officials;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, and pursuant to the provisions of Sections 21(c) and 22 of the Revised Election Code, do hereby call special election in Butig, Lanado del Sur, to be hold on February 20, 1968, for municipal offices.
