[ Proclamation No. 314, December 15, 1967 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CANCER SOCIETY, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND DRIVE DURING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 15 TO APRIL 15, 1963.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., has successfully pioneered and spearheaded the move towards the prevention and control of cancer, one of the top killer-diseases in the country, through its three-point cancer control program;

WHEREAS, since its organization ten years ago the Society has served more than 51,000 patients by giving free medical services, disseminating information on the disease and conducting researches in the field of cancer; and

WHEREAS, to carry on further its humanitarian work on a greater scope of operation, it needs the continued support and cooperation of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., to conduct a national educational, membership and fund drive from January 15 to April 15, 1968. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this humanitarian endeavor by giving generously of their means.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
