BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Proclamation No. 302, November 3, 1967 ]

DECLARING JANUARY 1 TO 7 OF EVERY YEAR AS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WEEK.

WHEREAS, the Community Development Program is designed to create and provide opportunities and conditions with which the barrio people can improve their communities;

WHEREAS, the Community Development Program has been an effective instrument in the social and economic changes taking place in the country today; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to impress upon the barrio people the value and significance of community development in improving their lives;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare January 1 to 7 of every year as Community Development Week, and designate the Presidential Arm on Community Development to take charge of, and coordinate, all activities in the celebration of the Week.

All provincial governors, city and municipal mayors and barrio captains are hereby enjoined to give fitting observance of this week in order to foster among our people the spirit of community development through self-help, and thus encourage them to become active participants in working for the welfare, growth and progress of our country.1aшphi1

Proclamation No. 341, dated December 24, 1964, is hereby revoked.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
