DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 1 TO 7, 1967, AS “ABACA WEEK”.
WHEREAS, abaca is the fifth major dollar earner of the country and on which no less than 3 million people depend for their livelihood; and
WHEREAS, the abaca industry needs revitalization if it is to maintain its position as one of the country’s major exports;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from October 1 to 7, 1967, as “Abaca Week” under the auspices of the ABACORP and the Philippine Association of Abaca Producers and Exporters (PAAPE).
