[ Proclamation No. 261, September 8, 1967 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1967, AS THE PERIOD FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES IN PLACES OUTSIDE GREATER MANILA.

WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, through its program of character-building and citizenship training for Filipino girls for more than 27 years has helped curb juvenile delinquency by instilling in the minds of the youth, the ideals of service to God, country and humanity;

WHEREAS, the Girl Scout movement continues to be the best training ground for girls for active participation in home, community and world affairs; and

WHEREAS, the national organization, in order to continue and expand its projects and activities and to maintain its high standards of work, needs funds to implement its policies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to conduct a national fund drive during the period from November 15 to December 31, 1967, in the provinces and territories outside of Greater Manila. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist whole-heartedly in this campaign and to give generously of their means so that the Girl Scouts of the Philippines may be assured of adequate funds with which to carry on its work.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
