[ Proclamation No. 255, August 29, 1967 ]

DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS NATIONAL HEALTH EDUCATION WEEK.

WHEREAS, the strength of a nation depends to a large extent upon the health of its people;

WHEREAS, the deterring factor in the achievement of the goal of promoting maximum health for all people is the lack of information and understanding regarding basic facts about health and social hygiene; and

WHEREAS, an organized program of health education which involves both government and voluntary agencies will go a long way towards the promotion of health consciousness among our people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the second week of October of every year as Health Education Week under the auspices of the Health Education Association of the Philippines, Inc. and all health agencies of the government.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
