[ Proclamation No. 253, August 25, 1967 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE GERIATRICS ORGANIZATION, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1 TO MAY 31, 1968.

WHEREAS, it is the abiding concern of the Government as well as the civic and more fortunate sectors of society to preserve the health and avail of the talents of destitute senior citizenry in the task of nation building; and

WHEREAS, the Philippine Geriatrics Organization, Inc., a civic and non-profit group dedicated to supplementing the efforts of the Government to ease the plight and render rehabilitational assistance to impoverished and ill-stricken elderly citizens so that they can continue to be useful citizens of our country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Geriatrics Organization, Inc. to conduct a national educational, membership and fund drive during the period from March 1 to May 31, 1968. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously of their means to actively support the campaign to rekindle the hopes and aspirations of our senior citizens who, due to dire poverty and illness, are being prevented from continuing their roles as useful members of the community.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
