[ Proclamation No. 231, July 13, 1967 ]

AUTHORIZING THE QUEZON MEMORIAL CIRCLE DEVELOPMENT AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1967.

WHEREAS, the Quezon Memorial Circle aims to perpetuate the memory of a great leader who devoted his lifetime to the attainment of Philippine Independence and the welfare of his people;

WHEREAS, the Quezon Memorial Circle Development and Beautification Committee has undertaken the development, landscaping and beautification of the 26-hectare Circle in the nation’s capital; and

WHEREAS, the Committee’s project deserves the whole-hearted support of all segments of the community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Quezon Memorial Circle Development and Beautification Committee to conduct a national educational and fund campaign during the period from June 15 to December 31, 1967. I authorize government officials to accept for the Committee fund-raising responsibilities. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist in this drive by giving generously of their means so that this laudable civic project may be completed. Funds collected by the Committee shall be placed at the disposal of the National Parks Committee created under Executive Order No. 30, s. 1963, as amended, for better coordination.1aшphi1
