[ Proclamation No. 219, July 2, 1967 ]

DECLARING THE ENTIRE PROVINCE OF PALAWAN AS GAME REFUGE AND BIRD SANCTUARY, AND THE SMALL ISLAND OF PALAWAN AS NATIONAL RESERVES.

By virtue of the powers vested in me by law, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby set aside and proclaim, subject to private rights, if any there be, the entire Province of Palawan as National Game Refuge and Bird Sanctuary and the small islands of Palawan as National reserves closed to exploitation and settlement, under the administration of the Parks and Wildlife Office. The hunting, taking or killing within said territory or islands of any of the wild animals or birds specified in Act Numbered Two thousand five hundred ninety as amended, is hereby prohibited; PROVIDED, however, That the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources, or his duly authorized representatives, may authorize by special permit with or without charge, when in his opinion the circumstances warrant, the taking of surplus game from a game refuge or bird sanctuary, or destroy at any time predatory, noxious or dangerous animals found therein, under such terms and conditions that may be issued.
