[ Proclamation No. 213, June 16, 1967 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE TUBERCULOSIS SOCIETY, INC. TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 19 TO OCTOBER 31, 1967.

WHEREAS, the health of the people is the primordial concern of any Government aspiring for social progress and economic prosperity;

WHEREAS, tuberculosis as an impoverishing disease persists to hamper the fulfillment of this aspiration despite the advances in medical science and in public health; and

WHEREAS, the Philippine Tuberculosis Society’s effort to control the White Plague and to minimize the wide-spread human sufferings caused by this ruthless scourge can continue only with the inspiring moral encouragement and generous financial assistance of every citizen;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. to conduct its national educational and fund campaign during the period from August 19 to October 31, 1967. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality or creed, to give generously of their means and to actively support the campaign to stamp out the White Plague.
