[ Proclamation No. 187, March 28, 1967 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL 9 TO 15, 1967, AND THE WEEK DURING WHICH APRIL 13TH FALLS EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER, AS “INVENTORS WEEK”.

WHEREAS, the Constitution provides that “the state shall foster scientific research and inventions” and in consonance with this constitutional mandate, Republic Act No. 3850, otherwise known as the “Philippine Inventors Incentives Act”, was signed into law on April 13, 1964; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that our inventors be given recognition and encouragement to induce them to use their God-given creative talents for the benefit of our country and its people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from April 9 to 15, 1967, and the week during which April 13th falls every year thereafter, as “Inventors Week”. I call on all government agencies and offices, as wall as the business sector, to extend every possible assistance and cooperation in making the celebration of the week a success.1aшphi1
