DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 9 TO 14, 1967, AS “LIONS INTERNATIONAL GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY WEEK.”

WHEREAS, Lions International, one of the biggest service club organizations in the world, has made monumental contributions for fifty years toward alleviating human suffering, strengthening communities and fostering international goodwill and understanding; and

WHEREAS, the world-wide celebration of fifty years of service to mankind of this great association in 135 countries, including the Philippines, falls on the second week of January, 1967;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, in recognition of the vital role of the International Association of Lions Clubs in making incalculable contributions toward the advancement of man and the betterment of communities and the improvement of international friendship and understanding among nations, o hereby declare the period from January 9 to 14, 1967, as “Lions International Golden Anniversary Week”.
