[ Proclamation No. 56, August 3, 1966 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, 1966, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN LAOAG CITY.

WHEREAS, the ninth day of August is the birthday of the late Governor Roque B. Ablan, Sr., an outstanding resistence leader of the occupation; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of Laoag City, his birthplace, be given full opportunity to celebrate his birthday;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, August 9, 1966, as a special public holiday in Laoag City.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
