[ Proclamation No. 50, July 14, 1966 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 17 TO 23, 1966, AS NATIONAL BANKING WEEK.

WHEREAS, one of the drawbacks to economic growth is the dearth of domestic savings invested in banks; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to inculcate in the minds of our people the importance of investing their savings in banks and in utilizing the services of banks and thus actively participate in economic development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from July 17 to 23, 1966, as National Banking Week. I urge all banks and civic organizations to cooperate in making the celebration of the Week a success.
