[ Proclamation No. 41, June 7, 1966 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 12 TO 19, 1966, AS FLAG WEEK.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Flag is the symbol of our country and the purest ideals and aspirations of our people; and

WHEREAS, the Flag is also the emblem of national sovereignty, national unity, and freedom and liberty;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that a week be set aside to ponder on the Flag and inspire our citizenry to greater acts of sacrifice and patriotism for the country to make it truly great;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from June 12 to 19, 1966, as Flag Week. I enjoin all government officials and employees, the public and civic organizations to cooperate in making the Week a success.
