DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 23 TO 29, 1966, AS “RURAL BANKS WEEK”.
WHEREAS, rural banks all over the country have contributed in no small measure to the social and economic advancement of our rural population; and
WHEREAS, the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines will jointly sponsor with the Central Bank of the Philippines, the thirteenth annual convention of rural bankers to be held in Baguio City from May 26 to 28, 1966;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, in recognition of the role of the rural banking system in assisting economic growth and progress, and to arouse public awareness to the benefits of rural banking, do hereby declare the period from May 23 to 29, 1966, as “Rural Banks Week” under the auspices of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines and the Central Bank of the Philippines.
