[ Proclamation No. 33, May 4, 1966 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 8 TO 14, 1966, AS NATIONAL 4-H CLUB WEEK.

WHEREAS, the 4-H Club, an organization of young boys and girls from the rural areas who pledge their heads to clearer thinking, their hearts to greater loyalty, their hands to larger service and their health to better living for their club, community and country, has been found to be one of the major forces in improving the standard of living in the rural areas;

WHEREAS, through this organization more than 200,000 boys and girls in and out of school have been developed into more useful young citizens and future leaders, thereby minimizing juvenile delinquency; and

WHEREAS, the organization, which has contributed to the development of native industries and farm and home skills through its project work in addition to increasing food production and bolstering rural income needs continued support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from May 8 to 14, 1966, as National 4-H Club Week and designate the Agricultural Productivity Commission to take charge of and coordinate all activities in celebration of said Week. I call upon all our countrymen to turn their thoughts during the week to the great service that this youth organization is doing for our country and to extend their cooperation to and to support this movement.1aшphi1
