[ Proclamation No. 19, March 9, 1966 ]

DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF MARCH OF EVERY YEAR AS ACCOUNTANCY WEEK.

WHEREAS, certified public accountants, by reason of the vantage position they occupy in the field of business, finance and industry, have contributed immensely to the progress of the national economy; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by certified public accountants in the development of the national economy be brought to the attention of the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 20 to 26, 1966, and the third week of March of every year hereafter as Accountancy Week under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
