[ Proclamation No. 115, November 4, 1966 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1966, AS THE PERIOD FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES IN PLACES OUTSIDE GREATER MANILA.

WHEREAS, The Girl Scouts of the Philippines has continuously served the nation through its program of character-building and citizenship training for Filipino girls for more than 26 years;

WHEREAS, the organization has helped curb the rise of juvenile delinquency by instilling in the minds of the youth, the ideals of service to God, country and humanity;

WHEREAS, the Girl Scout movement continues to be the best training ground for girls for active participation in home, community and world affairs; and

WHEREAS, the national organization, in order to continue its projects and activities and to maintain its high standards of work, needs funds to implement its policies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to conduct a national fund drive during the period from November 15 to December 31, 1966, in the provinces and territories outside of Greater Manila. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist whole-heartedly in this campaign. I authorize national provincial, city and municipal and school officials to accept for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, fund-raising responsibilities.
