[ Proclamation No. 109, October 10, 1966 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1966, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCES OF CAVITE AND ILOCOS NORTE AND IN THE CITIES OF LAOAG, CAVITE, TAGAYTAY AND TRECE MARTIRES.

WHEREAS, October 20, 1966, marks the birthday centenary of General Artemio Ricarte, one of our outstanding heroes who chose exile from his country rather than take an oath of allegiance to a foreign flag; and

WHEREAS, such exemplary patriotism and love of country is worthy of emulation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare October 20, 1966, as a special public holiday in the provinces of Cavite and Ilocos Norte and in the cities of Laoag, Cavite, Tagaytay and Trece Martires. I enjoin all citizens to cooperate in making the celebration a success.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
