[ Proclamation No. 104, September 12, 1966 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1966, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE.

WHEREAS, Tuesday, September 13, 1966, marks the anniversary of the Battle of Pulang Lupa 66 years ago at Torrijos, Marinduque, where a handful of Filipinos scored one of the most notable military victories in the Filipino-American War; and

WHEREAS, the people of the Province of Marinduque should be afforded the opportunity to commemorate this important event in their country’s history the more to inspire them to greater deeds for their country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Tuesday, September 13, 1966, as a special public holiday in the Province of Marinduque.
