[ Proclamation No. 474, October 15, 1965 ]

MAKING PUBLIC THE TREATY OF FRIENDSHIP AND CULTURAL RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA.

WHEREAS, a Treaty of Friendship and Cultural Relations between the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Argentina was concluded and signed by their respective plenipotentiaries in the City of Buenos Aires, Republic of Argentina, on the twelfth day of February, 1960;

WHEREAS, the Senate of the Philippines, by its Resolution No. 48 adopted on May 21, 1964, concurred in the ratification of said Treaty pursuant to the Constitution of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the proper instruments of ratification of the said Treaty were duly exchanged at Manila, Philippines, on the twenty-fifth day of March, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Article XIV of the Treaty stipulates that the same shall enter into force upon the exchange of the instruments of ratifications;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it known that I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, have caused the said Treaty, a certified copy of which in the English text is hereto attached, to be made public to the end that the same and every article and clause thereof may be observed and fulfilled in good faith by the Republic of the Philippines and the citizens thereof.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.1aшphi1
