[ Proclamation No. 471, October 10, 1965 ]

AUTHORIZING THE ORDER OF THE KNIGHTS OF RIZAL TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 30, 1965, TO JANUARY 31, 1966.

WHEREAS, the Order of the Knights of Rizal has for its objectives, the development and training of the minds of the youth along the ideals of Dr. Jose Rizal;

WHEREAS, the Order of the Knights of Rizal has resolved to wage a nation-wide and dynamic program to disseminate Rizal’s teachings and make research on, preserve and publish the hero’s works; and

WHEREAS, the Order of the Knights of Rizal, in order to implement its objectives and projects needs financial assistance from all sectors of the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Order of the Knights of Rizal to conduct a national educational and fund campaign during the period from November 30, 1965, to January 31, 1966. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of race and creed, to support the campaign. I authorize government officials and employees, school authorities and teachers, to accept, for the Order of the Knights of Rizal, fund-raising responsibilities and to give it active support and leadership in their respective communities.
