DECLARING THE LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY OF EVERY YEAR AS LEPROSY CONTROL WEEK

WHEREAS, leprosy sufferers all over the country are one of the most forgotten segments of society;

WHEREAS, the present program of leprosy control emphasizes domiciliary treatment, as opposed to the old, procedure of segregation;

WHEREAS, a public information program for an understanding of the modern concept of treatment, prevention and rehabilitation will go a long way in erasing the stigma attached to the disease;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO P. MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the last week of February of every year as Leprosy Control Week under the auspices of the Department of Health.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
