MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 453, September 15, 1965 ] DECLARING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1965, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY In commemoration of the centenary of the hero and patriot, Miguel Malvar, the last Filipino general to surrender to the Americans during the Filipino-American war, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, pursuant to the authority vested in me by Section 80 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, September 27, 1965, as a special public holiday.
