MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 446, September 2, 1965 ] DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1965, AS THE PERIOD FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES IN PLACES OUTSIDE GREATER MANILA. WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines has continuously served the nation for more than 25 years through its character building and citizenship training program for young girls; WHEREAS, the organization has been a strong deterrent against juvenile delinquency by instituting a program of wholesome activities, camp and community work and recreations and promoted world peace and understanding through its active participation in international events and in hostessing world gatherings; WHEREAS, the said organization with a membership of 164,000 hopes to extend the benefits of Girl Scouting to more girls of scouting age to train them in active citizenship for nation building; and WHEREAS, the National Girl Scout Organization, concentrating its activities on performing special service projects on a nationwide basis for its Silver Jubilee year, is in need of funds to implement its projects and to maintain its high standards of work; NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law,: do hereby authorize the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to conduct a national fund drive during the period from November 15 to December 31, 1965, outside of Greater Manila. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist wholeheartedly in this campaign and to give their utmost support so that the Girl Scouts of the Philippines may be assured of adequate funds with which to carry on its work. I authorize national, provincial, city, municipal and school officials to accept, for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, fund-raising responsibilities.1aшphi1 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Philippines to be affixed.
