[ Proclamation No. 444, September 1, 1965 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1965, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN NUEVA ECIJA AND CABANATUAN CITY.

WHEREAS, September 2, 1965, marks an important event in our struggle for freedom, particularly to the people of Nueva Ecija who rose in revolt against Spain on that day in 1896 under the leadership of General Mariano Llanera; and

WHEREAS, the people of Nueva Ecija and Cabanatuan City should be afforded ample opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Thursday, September 2, 1965, as a special public, holiday in Nueva Ecija and Cabanatuan City.
