MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 443, August 27, 1965 ] DECLARING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1965, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN CEBU PROVINCE AND IN THE CITIES OF CEBU, DANAO, LAPU-LAPU AND TOLEDO. WHEREAS, Thursday, September 9, 1965, marks the birthday of the late President Sergio Osmeña Sr., second President of the Commonwealth, patriot, statesman and staunch advocate of nationalism and Philippine independence; and WHEREAS, at least the people of his province should be afforded an opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies; NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Thursday, September 9, 1965, as a special public holiday in Cebu Province and in the Cities of Danao, Cebu, Lapu-lapu and Toledo.
