[ Proclamation No. 439, August 25, 1965 ]

DECLARING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1965, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN GUINOBATAN ALBAY.

WHEREAS, Thursday, September 2, 1965, marks the birth centenary of General Simeon Ola y Arboleda, one of the last Filipinos to surrender during the Filipino-American war; and

WHEREAS, the people of Guinobatan, Albay, should be afforded an opportunity to render homage to the honored general;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Thursday, September 2, 1965, as a special public holiday in Guinobatan, Albay.
