[ Proclamation No. 435, August 23, 1965 ]

DECLARING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1965, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE.

WHEREAS, Monday September 13, 1965, marks the anniversary of the Battle of Pulang Lupa sixty-five years ago at Torrijos, Marinduque, where a handful of Filipinos scored one of the most notable military victories in the Filipino-American war; and

WHEREAS, the people of the province of Marinduque should be afforded an opportunity to commemorate this important event in their country’s history the more to inspire them to greater deeds for their country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by Section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Monday, September 13, 1965, as a special public holiday in the Province of Marinduque.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
