[ Proclamation No. 428, August 3, 1965 ]

AUTHORIZING THE QUEZON MEMORIAL CIRCLE DEVELOPMENT AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 1, 1965 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1965.

WHEREAS, the Quezon Memorial Circle aims to perpetuate the memory of a great leader who devoted his lifetime to the attainment of Philippine Independence and the welfare of his people;

WHEREAS, the Quezon Memorial Circle Development and Beautification Committee has undertaken the development, landscaping and beautification of the 26-hectare Circle in the nation’s capital; and

WHEREAS, the civic project undertaken by the Quezon Memorial Circle Development and Beautification Committee deserves the wholehearted support of all segments of the community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Quezon Memorial Circle Development and Beautification Committee to conduct a national educational and fund campaign during the period from August 1, 1965 to September 30, 1965. I authorize government officials to accept for the Quezon Memorial Circle Development and Beautification Committee fund-raising responsibilities. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to assist in this drive by giving generously of their means so that this laudable civic project may be completed.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
