DECLARING JULY 17, 1965, AS BLOOD DONOR’S DAY

WHEREAS, the Philippine National Red Cross Blood Program has unmistakably contributed much in the promotion of general health, the mitigation of human suffering and the saving of human lives; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that a Day be set aside on which to dedicate our noblest thoughts and manifest our appreciation to the thousands of blood donors throughout the country who by sharing part of their life in order that others may live, form the mainstay of the Blood Program;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare July 17, 1965, as Blood Donor’s day.1aшphi1 I call upon all people to turn their noblest thoughts on the thousands of blood donors in the country whose unselfish contribution to the cause of the Red Cross movement is beyond reproach and to follow the precepts of their noble examples for the welfare of humanity.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
