DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 6 TO 12, 1965, AS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK AND CREATING A COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF ITS OBSERVANCE.

In order to give impetus to the role of science in the development of the country, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the period from December 6 to 12, 1965, as Science and Technology Week to be observed throughout the country in schools, colleges and universities, with appropriate ceremonies, under the sponsorship of the National Science Development Board.

The following are hereby designated members of a committee to take charge of the national observance of the week with particular emphasis on “SCIENCE AND FREEDOM FROM WANT:”

The President, Phil. Academy of Sciences and Humanities 1st Vice-Chairman
The President, Phil. Association for the Advancement of Science 2nd Vice-Chairman
The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources Member
The Secretary of Commerce and Industry Member
The Secretary of Education Member
The Secretary of Health Member
The Chairman, National. Research Council of the Philippines Member
The Chairman, UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines Member
The President, Confederation of Scientific Organization of the Philippines Member
The President, Phil. Council of Science and Technology Member
The President, United Technological Organization of the Philippines Member
The President, Chamber of Agriculture and Natural Resources Member
The President, Philippine Chamber of Industries Member
The President, National Press Club of the Philippines Member
