[ Proclamation No. 406, June 14, 1965 ]

DECLARING JUNE 17, 1965, AS LAND REGISTRATION DAY

WHEREAS, the ownership of lands is vital to the enhancement of the social and economic well-being of the people of this country; and

WHEREAS, there is need to impress upon landowners, specially those living in the rural areas, the importance of securing Torrens titles to their lands, and the benefits that could be derived therefrom;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 17, 1965, as Land Registration Day, designate the Commissioner of Land Registration to take charge of and coordinate all activities in’ the celebration of the Day, and enjoin all government officials and employees, as well as private citizens, to observe the Day with appropriate ceremonies.
