EXTENDING THE PERIOD OF THE NEW YORK WORLD’S FAIR FUND DRIVE TO OCTOBER 17, 1955

WHEREAS, the Philippine Government, through the joint undertaking of the private sector and the Department of Commerce and Industry, has committed itself to participate in the above Fair covering culture, education, art, science, entertainment, commerce, industry and other fields; and

WHEREAS, there is an imperative need of again extending the Fund Drive at least up to final closing of the Fair to enable the private sector to meet its goal;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby extend the period of the New York World’s Fair Fund Drive to October 17, 1965.1aшphi1 I call on all business enterprises throughout the Philippines, including the government entities, to extend their unstinted support and cooperation and to contribute their share to this laudable project in order to ensure the success of the Philippine participation therein;

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
