[ Proclamation No. 342, December 29, 1964 ]

DECLARING JANUARY 1 TO 7, 1965, AS FLAG WEEK

WHEREAS, our flag is the consecrated repository of our ideals and traditions and the historic symbol of our sovereignty; and

WHEREAS, there is need of instilling in the minds and hearts of the citizenry greater honor, respect, and reverence for our flag;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from January 1 to 7, 1965, as Flag Week and enjoin all government officials and employees as well as private citizens of the Philippines to observe the week with appropriate ceremonies.
