[ Proclamation No. 337, December 17, 1964 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 24 TO 30, 1965, AS PHILIPPINE FIBER WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine fiber industry is one of the chief industries of this country on which more than five million Filipinos depend for their support and livelihood; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that there be set aside a week during the year to focus attention on the contribution of the industry to national progress and to encourage our people to accelerate production of Philippine fibers for the benefit of the country at large and the improvement of the lot of our people dependent on the industry in particular;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from January 24 to 30, 1965, as Philippine Fiber Week under the auspices of the Bureau of Fiber Inspection Service.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
