[ Proclamation No. 327, November 24, 1964 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CANCER SOCIETY, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP, AND FUND DRIVE DURING THE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 1, 1964, TO JANUARY 31, 1965

WHEREAS, the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., has successfully pioneered and spearheaded the move towards the prevention and control of cancer, one of the top killer-diseases in the country, through its three-point cancer control program;

WHEREAS, since its organization seven years ago the Society has served more than 29,000 patients by giving free medical services, disseminating information on the disease, and conducting researches in the field of cancer; and

WHEREAS, to carry on its humanitarian work and to enable it to expand its services by including cancer treatment and other parts of the country in the scope of its operations, the Society needs the continued support and cooperation of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., to conduct a national educational, membership, and fund campaign from December 1, 1964, to January 31, 1965. I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, irrespective of nationality, race or creed, to assist in this humanitarian endeavor by giving generously of their means so that the drive may be a complete success.1aшphi1 I also authorize all national and local officials and employees to lend their full support and cooperation to the campaign.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
