[ Proclamation No. 322, October 30, 1964 ]

DESIGNATING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 15 TO DECEMBER 31, 1964, AS THE PERIOD FOR THE NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN OF THE GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES IN PLACES OUTSIDE GREATER MANILA

WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines has continuously served the nation for more than twenty-four years through its program of character building and citizenship training of young girls;

WHEREAS, the said organization with a membership of 164,000, hopes to extend the benefits of Girl Scouting to more girls of scouting age to train them in active citizenship for nation-building; and

WHEREAS, the national Girl Scout organization, with its provincial and city councils is in need of funds to enable it to carry on its program, and implement new projects to maintain its high standards of work, to meet its obligations locally and internationally, and to participate actively as a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in promoting world friendship and understanding;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by the authority vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to conduct a national fund drive from November 15 to December 31, 1964, outside of Greater Manila to assist wholeheartedly in this campaign and to give their utmost support so that the Girl Scouts of the Philippines may be assured of adequate funds with which to carry on its work. I authorize national, provincial, city, municipal and school officials to accept, for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, fund raising responsibilities.1aшphi1
