[ Proclamation No. 320, October 2, 1964 ]

NAMING THE CAVITE-MANILA SOUTH ROAD AS MEXICO ROAD

WHEREAS, the year 1964 has been designated as “The Year of Philippine-Mexican Friendship” under Proclamation No. 189 dated December 31, 1963, to strengthen the cultural and historic ties between the two countries;

WHEREAS, to perpetuate the memory of the historic affinity and. cultural and economic ties between the two Republics, and to make the celebration truly significant and commemorative, it is fitting and proper that some Philippine landmarks which have historical link with Mexico should be named after her; and

WHEREAS, the Cavite-Manila South road played a significant role during the Manila-Acapulco trade;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby re-name the Cavite-Manila South Road as Mexico Road.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
