DECLARING SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1964, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF CAVITE AND IN THE CITIES OF CAVITE, TAGAYTAY, AND TRECE MARTIRES

WHEREAS, Saturday, September 12, 1964, marks the 68th anniversary of the execution of the thirteen martyrs from Cavite;

WHEREAS, their supreme sacrifice on the altar of the country’s struggle for self-determination is of special significance to our people, particularly the inhabitants of Cavite; and

WHEREAS, the people of Cavite should be afforded full opportunity to commemorate the event with fitting ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the authority vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Saturday, September 12, 1964, as a speical public holiday in the Province of Cavite and in the Cities of Cavite, Trece Martires, and Tagaytay.
