[ Proclamation No. 296, August 18, 1964 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 1 TO 7 OF EVERY YEAR AS COTTAGE INDUSTRIES WEEK

WHEREAS, the development of our country’s cottage industry potential depends on increased production and patronage and improvement of the methods of production and standards of cottage products; and

WHEREAS, there is need for more of our people to engage in cottage industries and to participate in the attainment of economic self-sufficiency;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare October 1 to 7 of every year as Cottage Industries Week under the auspices of the National Cottage Industries Development Authority. I call upon all government and private entities and all residents of the Philippines to lend their full cooperation in making the observance of the Week a success.1aшphi1
