[ Proclamation No. 278, July 29, 1964 ]

CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A FOURTH SPECIAL SESSION

Whereas, the public interest requires that the Congress of the Philippines be convened in a fourth special session to consider urgent legislative measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a fourth special session commencing on August 3, 1964, and ending on August 7, 1964, to consider the following subjects:

1. Appropriation of P3 million for Maintenance, Operation, and Repair of Airports and Navigation Facilities;

2. Appropriation of P50 million for Repair, Construction, and Reconstruction of Public Schoolhouses;

3. Appropriation of P30 million for Maintenance, Repair, Improvement, and Construction of Feeder and Barrio Roads;

4. Other essential Public Works, including Waterworks, Artesian Wells, Dug Wells, Municipal Ports, and Communal Irrigations;

5. Such other measures as may be submitted.1aшphi1

If Congress so desires, it may continue in session for a longer period than that herein fixed, provided it shall not exceed thirty (30) days.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.
