[ Proclamation No. 259, June 25, 1964 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 23 TO 30, 1964, AS NATIONAL FREEDOM-FROM-HUNGER CAMPAIGN WEEK.

WHEREAS, the Food and Agriculture Organization has designated the period from November 23 to 30, 1964, as Regional Freedom-from-Hunger Campaign Week;

WHEREAS, the celebration of Freedom-from-Hunger Campaign Week has far-reaching significance in the life of our. people; and

WHEREAS, there is a real need for this celebration in order to awaken our people to the stark reality of the problem of hunger and malnutrition and to arouse their interest in the production of food crops to ensure adequate supply of nutritious food;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 23 to 30, 1964, as National Freedom-from-Hunger Campaign Week, under the auspices of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
