DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 4 TO 10, 1984, AS PHILIPPINE HIGHWAY WEEK

WHEREAS, our highways are the vital links between our cities and far-flung barrios; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to bring to the people’s attention the importance of roads and highways to national progress;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare the first week of May, 1964, as Philippine Highway Week and designate the Secretary of Public Works and Communications, theCommissioner of Public Highways, the District and City Engineers League, and the Philippine Better Roads Association to take charge of all arrangements and activities for its fitting celebration throughout the Philippines.
