[ Proclamation No. 245, May 21, 1964 ]

CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION

WHEREAS, the public interest requires that the Congress of the Philippines be convened in a special session in order to consider urgent legislative measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a special session for such number of days as may be necessary but not to exceed thirty (30) days commencing in the morning of May 22, 1964, to consider the following subjects:

1. H. No. 9470 - An Act appropriating funds for the operation of the Republic of the Philippines during the period from July first, 1964, etc.;

2. H. No. 10535 - Public Works Act;

3. H. No. 651 - An Act to develop the Rice and Corn Industries towards the level of National Self-Sufficiency and long range stability, providing funds therefor, and other purposes; and

4. Such other measures as may be submitted.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this proclamation.1aшphi1
