DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 10 TO 16, 1964, AS “RURAL BANKS WEEK”

WHEREAS, rural banks all over the country have contributed in no small measure to the social and economic uplift of an overwhelming majority of our people; and

WHEREAS, the Central Bank of the Philippines will hold its 11th annual convention of rural bankers from May 14 to 16, 1964, in Baguio City;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Republic of the Philippines, in order to apprise the public of the worthy achievements of th rural banking system and its important role in our economic development, do hereby declare the period from May 10 to 16, 1964, as “Rural Banks Week” under the auspices of the Central Bank of the Philippines and the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines.
