DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 24 TO 31, 1964, AS TOURISM WEEK

WHEREAS, the tourist industry can only prosper in our country if our people are sold to the idea and made to realize the benefits the industry can bring to the country; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary that wider interest in the industry be aroused and our people informed of how they can contribute to the development of this dollar-earning industry ;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim the period from May 24, to 31, 1964, as Tourism Week, with “Tourism Is Wealth” as the theme, under the auspices of the Board of Travel and Tourist Industry and the Philippine Tourist and Travel Association. I urge all business, civic, educational, cultural, and other groups, and all citizens to participate in making the event a success.1aшphi1
