BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

[ Proclamation No. 775, August 30, 1961 ]

DECLARING THE FIRST DAY OF SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS SOCIAL SECURITY DAY

WHEREAS, the Social Security System commenced full operations on September 1, 1957; and

WHEREAS, it is advisable to commemorate this event which marked the start of new measures for the economic security and well-being of the Filipino workingman;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the first day of September of every year as Social Security Day.
